Abstract

The article examines the diplomatic mail as a source of the genre of travel notes, and this genre as a business ambassadorial documentation is formed at the beginning of the XVII century and is defined as a literary genre replete with detailed descriptions and personal impressions of the authors and the travels of Russian people to Central Asia, which were carried out in trade and political affairs, and written evidence of these travels was created as state documentation - diplomatic mail.
