Development of Sex Education Model for Children Using Index Card Match Approach in Elementary School
Abstract
This research is motivated by the high cases of sexual abuse that occur in children in Indonesia, one of which is in elementary school children, the results of previous studies explained that the importance of implementing sex education for children in elementary schools, but with the lack of materials and media for sex education for children, causing the implementation of sex education for children has not been maximally implemented there is no implementation of sex education for children in elementary schools, if any, only thematic-based materials are provided and there is no special material on sex education for children in elementary schools, even though sex education materials for Children are very important given to children from an early age. The purpose of this study was to develop sex education materials for children with an index card match approach in elementary schools that were valid, practical, and effective. This development research uses the ADDIE model procedure which consists of five (5) stages; analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. The results showed that; 1) Reading materials (model books, teacher books, student books) and index card matches developed valid categories in terms of graphics, language, and content; 2) Reading materials (model books, teacher books, student books) and index card matches developed are very practical for teachers and students to use; and 3) Reading materials (model books, teacher books, student books) and index card matches that were developed were very effective in increasing students' learning activities towards sex education materials that had been given, in addition, they were also effective in applying sex education materials in daily life. -day.
